What started as her memoir quickly evolved into a series of children's books in an effort to show anyone with any type of disability that the only one who stops them from accomplishing things in life is themself. Typically described as sensitive, loveable and caring, Alyssa is one of those rare people who listens closely and cares deeply about those around her. She's always there with a touch of humor or a sympathetic shoulder, willing to lend a hand or a bit of wisdom. She's also fiercely loyal, so it's considered good advice to not mess with someone she loves. After graduating from Mesa College with a dual major in Child Development and Sign Language, Alyssa has never been one to be held back by cerebral palsy. ""I like cooking and hanging out with my family and friends, recognizing that I can do ANYTHING I want to...it just may take me a little longer to do it,"" she says. Such drive and tenacity has led Alyssa to trying her hand at ice skating and rock climbing, as well as becoming an active participant in her local Kiwanis club. In her free time, she likes to go shopping, take swimming classes, and play Dungeons & Dragons. Alyssa and her boyfriend Patrick live in San Diego. She is currently working on the next two books in the Marvelous Monee series. An award-winning journalist, content editor, and creative strategist living in San Diego, Calif., with a passion for fitness technology, endurance sports, adventure travel, and healthy living. Experienced in content creation, editorial management, social media planning, SEO optimization, and long-term editorial growth strategy. Jennifer Garstang has been passionate about the arts from a very young age, and has amassed decades-worth of doodles and character designs. In the early 2010s she tried out a new-fangled tool called a ""digital pen and tablet,"" using it to transform an old color pencil piece into her first digital painting, titled ""My Dragon Ate My Homework"". She went on to create a small portfolio of fine-art pieces, which can be found on her website www.MyDragonAteMyHomework.com. More recently, she has rekindled her love of cartoonish character designs, and uses her trusty digital tools to bring stories to life through illustration.
