High Quality Content by aMartin Lavut born 1939 in Montreal, Quebec is a Canadian voice actor who is best known for his contributions to early Nelvana productions, such as The Devil and Daniel Mouse and its spin-off, Rock & Rule. He studied acting at California's Pasadena Playhouse, and New York's American Theatre Wing. He acted with Compass/Second City's Saint Louis Company. He then went on to write and direct numerous theatrical, television-drama and documentary films, including the award-winning dramas War Brides, Charlie Grant's War and The Marriage Bed; and the award-winning documentaries Without a Hobby It's No Life, Orillia, and After Darwin. Most recently, he directed 2006's Remembering Arthur, a biography of filmmaker Arthur Lipsett. He is currently at work on a documentary about the eccentric portrait photographer Mike Disfarmer.
