Author Information

Born and educated near London, England. In the 1950s, Peter Worsley moved to the United States when he took a job in Santa Monica, California. For many years he worked in marketing and communications with high-tech people, products, and ideas. Peter retired in 1996 while living in Santa Barbara. Seeking a change of pace, he set out on a path to become a professional artist painter. Today, in his mideighties, he sees himself as a kind of old soul and romantic at heart. The subjects he chooses to paint have some sort of nostalgic calling-ordinary people doing everyday things at interesting places. Often the result is a moving painting reflecting the human comedy. Recently, as he spoke with other artists, it became clear that many do not realize what it takes to market their artworks. With the rapidly changing environment of the Internet and other related means of communication, the so-called tried-and-true methods of yesteryear are no longer adequate. With this insight, Peter decided to give back to the art community, first by hosting several workshops, and then by writing this book.
