In his lifetime, Mark Twain was perhaps as renowned for his public speaking as he was for his writing.... Since we, unfortunately, have no recordings of what he said, the speeches themselves are invaluable - and Fatout's book is an incredible collection of what has survived. - John C. Bird, editor, The Mark Twain Annual
