Marie Curie A Scientist's Courage Marie Curie-Sklodowska was one of the most brilliant scientists in history and a pioneer in every possible way: she was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize; the first to be a professor at the Sorbonne; the first person to be awarded twice with the Nobel Prize and, to this day, the only one who has achieved it in two different scientific areas. Despite all this recognition, she was never allowed to enter the French Academy, an obvious case of sexist discrimination. Valeria Edelsztein is an Argentinian scientist well known for her work as a science teacher and communicator. She studied chemistry and obtained a bachelor's degree and later a doctorate from the University of Buenos Aires. She started working at CONICET as a researcher. She also participates as a columnist in radio and television programs and is the author of several primary and middle-level textbooks. África Fanlo graduated in fine arts from the University of Barcelona, in 2000 she joined the publishing world and began a long career as an illustrator of children's books, with more than 30 published titles. For 10 years she has been a teacher at the Escola de Artes y Oficios Massana in Barcelona.
