Overview
A drone-based terrorist attack in Israel kills dozens on a sun-splashed beach in Caesarea as America awakens to the shattering news that Vice President Stephanie Davenport has died of an apparent heart attack. That same morning, a chance encounter on the Washington Metro results in international private investigator Robert Brixton thwarting an attempted terrorist bombing. Brixton has no reason to suspect that the three incidents have anything in common--until he's contacted by Kendra Rendine, the Secret Service agent who headed up the vice president's security detail. Rendine is convinced the vice president was murdered and needs Brixton's investigative expertise to find out why. Mary Truman (1924 - 2008) was the author of a series of murder mysteries, including the Capital Crimes series, and a number of works on U.S. First Ladies and First Families, including a biography of her father, President Harry S. Truman. Her books gave insight into the corridors of power and privilege and sometimes included secrets and history about the White House, where she once resided. Jon Land has authored or co-authored more than fifty books, including the bestselling Murder, She Wrote series. Christine Kiphart is a classically trained singer with a lifetime of experience in storytelling and performance. As a teacher of literature and writing, she enjoys bringing the world of story to children and adolescents and loves exploring the art of narration. She resides with her poet-clown husband and her two terriers in Los Angeles.
