Dr Peter Chasseaud is a historian of military cartography, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the founder of the Historical Military Mapping Group of the British cartographic Society and a member of the Defense Surveyors' Association. He is the author of Mapping the First World War and other definitive works on trench mapping and toponymy such as Mapping the Second World War, in which he applies his unrivalled expertise to the field of 1939-1945 military maps.
