Maarek, is a professor of political communication at the Paris Est Créteil University (UPEC), France, a former president of the Political Communication Research Sections of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and a former member of the Institute of Communication Science of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). Currently of a member of the Sic.Lab Méditerranée (Nice, France), Philippe J. Maarek is the founder and director of the Center for Comparative Studies in Political and Public Communication (CECCOPOP) and is the co-founder and former director of the Public and Political Communication Department at the University of Paris-East, France.
