OverviewThis second edition is thoroughly revised, updated and enlarged, for the readers. In this second edition, six new chapters have been added: Bone marrow trephine biopsy; Tru-cut biopsy or Core needle biopsy; Diagnostic use of immunhistochemistry in surgical pathology; Microarrays and DNA sequencing; Microdissection and different types of polymerase chain reaction; and Quality control in histopathology. The chapter on Frozen Section has been fully revised and more practical information have been included, keeping in mind the problems faced by the users during cryostat/frozen sections. Molecular diagnostic changes at a glance in different diseases, tumors and hereditary diseases have been added in the Appendix in Tabular form (almost like a new chapter!) and hope it will be useful for different examinations as last minute revision. Most of these new chapters have been added in this second edition at the request of readers, especially postgraduate students who are pursuing an MD in Pathology.
