Nickle is a Zoologist in the Nematology Laboratory, Plant Sciences Institute, United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Maryland. He is the author of over 80 scientific publications on biological control of pest insects, insect nematology and plant nematology, and editor of Plant and Insect Nematodes (Marcel Dekker, Inc.). A member of the Society of Nematologists, Entomological Society of America, Society of Invertebrate Pathology, European Society of Nematologists, Helminthological Society of Washington, and Organization of Tropical American Nematologists, Dr. Nickle received the B.S. degree (1956) from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry, State University of New York, Syracuse, M.S. degree (1958) from the University of Idaho, Moscow, and Ph.D. degree (1963) from the University of California, Davis.
