It is not possible to imagine a classic or contemporary exhibition without his work, sometimes reminiscent of tubes in ephemeral conditions, especially when the focus is laid on the relationship of art and architecture. His early works invoked miniature editions of houses, that grow up permanently into huge sculptures. A critic wrote that his objects are reminiscent of the work of German architect Hans Scharoun. It seemed to him that Manfred Pernice took fragments and studies of the Berlin philharmony or the huge State Libarary in Berlin, and glued or added picture postcards to repatriate the paragons to its preliminarities.
