He is a registered psychologist whose primary work has been explaining drug use, particularly the use of performance enhancing substances. He is a founding editor of the scholarly journal Performance Enhancement and Health, has contributed to numerous published works on the management of drugs in sport in the peer-review literature and media and has taught organisational behaviour, leadership, human resource management and public sector management to the Masters level.
