Managerial Epidemiology: Principles and Applications

Overview

Managerial Epidemiology will help future administrators and managers of health services in planning and delivery of health services through data-driven evidence-based management practices. This new first edition on Managerial Epidemiology provides a solid balance of baseline materials on epidemiologic methods and a focus on tools and skills required to succeed as a healthcare manager. The book fulfills the specific requirement by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) for a course on Managerial Epidemiology. The text broadens the definition and scope of Epidemiology from the distribution, spread, and containment of health problems in populations to the planning, organization, and management of health. Each chapter includes a self-test, case study or exercise, and a glossary of terms.
