The Chief Information Officer''s RoleReviewsAuthor InformationCarroll Frenzel received his Ph.D. in Atmosphere Physics and Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Upon graduation, he joined IBM as a programmer and advanced through several IT management positions where he managed several hundred employees and a budget of $90 million. After leaving industry, Dr. Frenzel joined the University of Colorado as a professor in the Management Sciences and Information Systems department, and later was appointed to the position of Director, Business Research Division. John Frenzel received his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine. Upon completion of his residency, he joined the clinical faculty at Baylor, and was appointed to serve as the Anesthesiology Residency Director, a position in which he supervised 65 physicians-in-training. Currently, Dr. Frenzel is an assistant professor at the University of Texas, where his research interests include Internet-based delivery of continuing medical education, telehealth, and wireless network security.
