The dwelling place of the Triune God is at the subconscious core of the human being. Only Christ can enter because it is such a private, intimate space, and even He will only do so in response to a faith-based invitation. Man becomes a true child of God after the Spirit takes up residence in the centre of the believer's heart. But unless God has fully invaded the soul, nothing one does-including baptism, confirmation, partaking in the sacraments, church membership, etc.-means anything.
