OverviewI know some people might find it hard to believe, but I'm so proud to have grown up in Tuskegee, Alabama. Predominantly black Tuskegee is rich in black history and is such a historical community. Even though we were dirt poor like most black folks during that time, the pride of walking amongst black teachers, doctors, lawyers, carpenters, barbers, etc. Is the part I enjoyed dreaming of interacting with professionals, educated, and skilled black folks. I really did not realize the terrible issue of racism in my environment until I became a young adult.
