You always did feel different from everybody else in Hatherton. Even at school, you were something of a loner, looking at the world differently to everybody else. You became familiar with the ways of the Church Of Solace, and hated it, yet by the time you reached twelve years old you found yourself carrying out verger duties... and rather well.
