Author Information

Alison McGhee is the New York Times bestselling author of picture books (including Bink and Gollie), children's novels (including the Julia Gillian series), young-adult novels (including All Rivers Flow to the Sea), and adult novels (including the Today Show book-club selection Shadow Baby). In addition to being an award-winning author, she is a professor of creative writing at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota. Marc Rosenthal is the illustrator of many books for children, including I Must Have Bobo, I'll Save You Bobo, and Bobo the Sailor Man, all by Eileen Rosenthal; The Straight Line Wonder by Mem Fox; and Phooey, which he wrote. Marc's illustrations can be seen regularly in The New Yorker, Time, Forbes, Fortune, The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and others. Susie Berneis is a versatile voiceover artist with numerous narration credits to her name. She has an ear for dialect and a love for the process of developing characters, which has been cultivated through her twenty-plus years of experience as a community and regional stage actress. Based in Ann Arbor (home of the University of Michigan, where she received her BA in English and theatre), she now takes great joy in playing all the characters she encounters in her narration.
