Author Information

Shortly after graduating from USC-Spartanburg, Lauri met and married her husband, Mike. They never imagined a life anywheres but around the corner from Lauri's family in Central NY, but just days before their daughter, Michaela, started 9th grade, they moved to TN. It was quite eventful, and Michaela's passion to perform definitely kept the family busy. ""Mikki Zip"" played acoustic gigs around Nashville, and her dedication in theatre, choir, academics, and the community earned her scholarships, awards and accolades. When Mikki left for college, Lauri wrote her first children's book. Make Believe With Melody is inspired by the memories of every age and every stage with Mikki. Illustrator Mike Sofka was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Now living in Columbia, TN, Mike takes pride in being a devoted family man with a lovely wife and 5 children. Mike's greatest passion is illustrating children's books and making words come alive with illustrations he has drawn and colored.
