OverviewSince the formation of Ethiopia as a modern state, various sociopolitical discourses have been entertained in literary works, scholarly writings, political party manifestos, the mainstream media, and more recently the social media. However, the sociopolitical discourses that take center stage vary across political periods (the imperial, the D�rg, and the EPRDF regimes). The Amharic novels that were published during the respective regimes have earned a reputation for playing prominent roles in entertaining social, historical, and political matters of these political periods.
