Overview

Kaylen Roberts reluctantly returns to Maine after her father, Preston Grant suffers a heart attack. She not only finds he recently remarried, but is stepfather to a 14-year-old boy who hates her on sight. Preston collapsed after an argument with his new wife, Darlene, whose car is found abandoned with blood inside. Preston is the primary suspect in Darlene's disappearance. Kaylen's in way over her head and knows she needs help. But she hasn't spoken to her ex-boyfriend, homicide lieutenant Brian Swift, after he lied to her and she walked out on him. She asks his best friend, private investigator Jim Paxton to fly up from Miami. Instead, Brian arrives. Can they resolve their differences and work together as a team to solve the mystery of Darlene's disappearance?
