MAGHRIBI, RUH ATTAR, HAYDAR Life & Poems Translation & Introduction Paul Smith Maghribi (1350-1407) travelled in North-West Africa where he was invested with the dervish mantle by a master who traced himself back to the great Ibn 'Arabi who had a great influence on him in the philosophy of the Unity of Being. Ruh Attar was one of the greatest poets in Shiraz during the 14th c. yet is virtually unknown today. He knew of course all the poets in Shiraz including the greatest...
