Overview
Madeline goes West Light humour mixes with a Detective Thriller. Detective Madeline Curtis is assigned to a remote part of the West of Ireland to investigate a possible serial-killer. Madeline had track record with the drugs squad before she was transferred to the murder squad. Unmarried, she has one son, Dara, and another on the way. Laura, her cousin, together with Laura's partner Grace, accompany Madeline so as to provide domestic back up and child minding. Her arrival in the West causes ripples within the local drug smuggling enterprise. Lord Roche, descendant of the Norman invasions hundreds of years ago, has his estates, but is also very discreetly the local drug lord. Kelly, the local detective, also wants her to follow the trail of a 'mother and child scheme' operated by a local priest to send illegitimate children to the USA for adoption. Peter Roche, a teen son of the local Lord Roche, has got a local farm girl pregnant. She is put into the scheme and Peter tries to rescue her. When Kelly is murdered things go pear shaped. In course of her investigations, Madeline visits a Convent of a Silent Order of nuns where pregnant single girls are held pending childbirth. She is drugged and restrained and has a 'one night stand' with Lord Roche before she is drugged again and taken away to be murdered. A Dublin Drug Dealer has planned a major drug smuggling operation, and he moves in on Lord Roche. Drugged, kidnapped and the subject of a murder plot, Madeline must fight for her freedom and is in a murderous rage over the way Lord Roche betrayed her.
