A guruji, mentor, philosopher, and role model of a teacher and an unparalleled human being. Professor K.C. Sahu, who got all his degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, remains an IITian in its letter and spirit. He is a teacher par excellence who believes in the rounded development of the individual. To him, inculcating values, participating in varieties of activities, and developing leadership qualities are as important as excelling in studies. He has left an indelible mark on IIT Kharagpur, be it in teaching, research, or student related activities. His contribution to Industrial Engineering education and to the profession in this country will be remembered. My guruji has been my inspiration in every sense of the term. His dedication and commitment to IIT has inspired me to follow his footsteps to be first a teacher at IIT Kharagpur and to do my best for our alma mater. The book Made in IIT gives an account of how our alma mater shaped him as an individual, a teacher, a professional and as a leader. The book presents the spirit of IIT Kharagpur.
