Overview

""Mad Mic"" is a real-time, one-hour dive into the gloriously unhinged world of ""The Cosmic Frequency,"" a fictional underground rock radio station in 1975. The entire play unfolds in their cramped, analog control room, a monument to questionable interior design and barely-functioning electronics. At the helm is ""Captain"" Jack Flash, a DJ who's less ""Captain"" and more ""philosophical cruise director,"" spinning vinyl with ramblings so deep they might just be puddles. He's ""supported"" by his razor-sharp sidekick, ""Roxie"" Starr, whose wit is faster than a runaway tape deck and whose eye-rolls could power a small city. Holding the tattered fabric of reality together, barely, is Harold ""The Herald"" Finch, the station's newsman, whose news desk is a stack of old concert flyers and whose biggest fear is accidentally saying ""groovy"" on air.
