Overview

Tantra proclaims that no other deity confers Siddhi as fast as Maa Tara. Tantra also recognizes the one supreme deity presiding over everything as the highest. At the same time, it admits the existence of various Gods and Goddesses. Tantra deals with the worship of Shakti more prominently. The tradition of "" Dasha Maha Vidyas"" is a Shakta tradition. As per the Dasha Maha Vidya tradition, the supreme mother is transcendent, absolute, ineffable and immutable. Some of the deities of Dasha Maha Vidyas are of Shanta (Peaceful) nature while others are of Ghora (Fierce) nature. She is Ghora only to rule out our Karma and She is Shanta to confer peace and prosperity on us along with divine knowledge and realization.This is about Maa Tara, the second Maha Vidya.
