Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDoreen Chaky was born and attended schools in Butte, Montana, earned her geology degree from the University of Montana. She began work as a freelance writer while living in Cody, Wyoming, and, after moving to Williston, North Dakota, worked for various Williston newspapers. She is the author of Terrible Justice: Sioux Chiefs and US Soldiers on the Upper Missouri, 1854-1868 (University of Oklahoma Press, 2012, 2014). Adrienne Stepanek is a life-long resident of western North Dakota. She was born in Rawson, rural McKenzie County, and moved to Williston in 1955. She has been engaged in historical and genealogical research for many years and was certified from 1984 to 1999 as a Genealogical Record Searcher in North Dakota and South Dakota by the Board for Certification of Genealogists in Washington, D.C. Adrienne was employed by the City of Williston, first at the public library, and later at the Riverview Cemetery office where she assisted with the research and reconstruction of the city cemetery records dating back to 1887.
