OverviewEarth plans to inhabit Mars. The first step is to establish a colony on the moon, where Home Base evaluates human adaptation to extraterrestrial environments. Bob, Mary, Jose, Jenna, and Bertie live in lava tubes on the moon, with five other families. Everyone, both humans and dogs, performs a daily exercise routine. Home Base assigned each family maintenance duties that are performed once each week. Each person and dog has a chip embedded under the skin on the left wrist. Home Base uses this to monitor each human and dog. Considering the adverse conditions on the moon, they would know in an instant if something changed in their health. An emergency arises, and to be safe, they must learn about what is sixty feet beneath their lava tubes.
