He taught at several schools in Shropshire before his retirement in 2000. He has always had an interest in local history and photography, and has collected over 20,000 views of Shrewsbury and Shropshire, dating from 1842 up until the present day. He has had twenty-two books published, as well as his work for local papers and magazines. David is well known in Shropshire’s historical circles, leading talks and historical walks in the area throughout the year.
