A recognizable character, Professor Green has also collaborated with a variety of global brands such as PUMA and Givenchy. But there is another side to Professor Green. Behind the tattoos and the rap persona is Stephen Manderson, a gentle man who has overcome adversity to succeed against all the odds. Growing up in Hackney, Stephen acknowledges that his grandmother and nan were the strongest influences in his life, that he no longer speaks to his mother Patricia and his relationship with his father Peter was very turbulent. Just after Stephen's 18th birthday his father committed suicide. The emotions surrounding his family are often reflected in his music. In 2011 Stephen met Millie Mackintosh, whose background was completely different, and yet it was the similarities as much as the differences that attracted them to each other and they married in 2013.

Professor Green, real name Stephen Manderson, is working with experienced writer and journalist Max Leonard. Max gained a double First in English and French from Oxford University and worked as a consultant writer and researcher in urban regeneration and the media before doing a Masters in Film Studies.
