OverviewLucie's Hope follows George Mueller's life from a secure childhood in Germany before the Second World War, to his family's persecution by the Nazi Party. George's account chronicles losing both his parents, as well as other family, and surviving with his sister -- first in hiding, then in three brutal concentration camps, including Bergen-Belsen where Anne Frank perished. A long-time Chicago area resident, George returned to Germany and Holland in 2000 to research this book. George's impressions from this return trip are juxtaposed with his war-time memories. Lucie's Hope is an important account of a survivor's Holocaust experiences, as well as a critical historical document. It is also a riveting and ultimately uplifting and inspiring read.
