Author Information

Xanna is a writer and editor with over 15 years' experience in publishing. She has worked across all platforms, including books, magazines, part works, CD-ROMs, games, audio scripts, eBooks and apps. Xanna has spent much of her career within the children's market, but she also writes, edits and develops material for general readership including Nickelodeon and Dr. Who. Angela Hicks is one of those rare adults who has kept her vivid, childlike imagination, and this is reflected in her illustrations. Largely self-taught, she has been drawing since a young age, and with the support of her mum eventually made art her dream career. Angie studied graphic design and worked in the licensing industry before becoming a full-time illustrator with Award. She loves a good book shop and can spend hours browsing the shelves – children’s books being her favourite!
