Reviews

Peggy Palmer's Loving the Kid in the Mirror is a luminous new addition to her heartfelt children's book series. With her signature warmth and wisdom, Palmer explores a tender question: How do we love ourselves even on days we don't like ourselves very much? The story follows Tony, a thoughtful and curious young boy struggling with self-doubt. With the loving guidance of his family and his own deepening awareness, Tony embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Through gentle, accessible storytelling, Palmer introduces children to the concept of self-love, offering a roadmap to building emotional resilience and confidence. Palmer's series has consistently championed emotional growth. In Gather the Good, children are encouraged to find joy and meaning in everyday moments. Treasure of the Heart teaches acceptance and celebrates the beauty of inner worth. Now, Loving the Kid in the Mirror continues that tradition by empowering children to embrace their imperfections and love themselves wholly. Palmer's books are tools for nurturing self-worth and empathy. Her compassionate voice helps children understand and honor the most important relationship they'll ever have-the one with themselves. -Ann Collins, Book Reviewer
