Loving Jewish People

Overview

Jewish people are experiencing another Holocaust. The only difference between today's catastrophic extermination of Jews and that of Nazi Germany's is technology. German efficiency murdered Jewish people and disposed of their bodies in short order. Iranian murderous terror toward Jewish people is taking longer. Missiles are hit and miss. Why does the world hate the Jews? It all starts with God. An anti-God spirit prevails in cultures around the world. The Jews are God's first people on earth. They are God's method of blessing all families and nations. Maybe it's jealousy. No matter what, you can't love God and hate the Jews. Ironically the very religion which owes its existence to Judaism, Christianity, has historically been the perpetrator of Jewish hatred. The church was a bystander while others executed their mission of annihilation. The opposite of hate is love. To reverse current global anti-Jewish feeling requires loving Jewish people as human beings. It must start with a repentant church willing to admit, confess, and plead forgiveness from any Jewish person. The church needs to practice what it believes--to love God with all its heart, body, soul, and spirit--by demonstrating concrete ways to love its neighbor, the Jewish people.

Reviews

""In over two decades of congregational leadership, I have rarely encountered a Christian thinker so deeply invested in understanding and honoring Judaism--not as a precursor to his own faith, but as a living, breathing covenant between a people and their God. Paul's insight, candor, and teaching have been gifts to me and to our community. His work challenges Christians to confront uncomfortable truths, to unlearn inherited prejudices, and to rediscover the Hebraic roots of their own story."" --From the foreword by Andrea Cosnowsky
