Love's Lost Knight

Overview

In mediaeval England, Sir Carlyon – gallant rescuer of Mary the thatcher’s daughter – vanishes without a trace. Determined to find her lost knight, Mary calls upon the hidden gifts she has inherited from her mother, May, a wise woman of the village. Guided by these powers, she discovers Carlyon wandering as a goliard, bereft of memory and identity. Hoping to restore him, Mary brings him north to her homeland, a journey fraught with peril and unexpected adventure. Yet Carlyon, restless and unmoored, slips from her grasp once more –forcing Mary to set out on a second, more desperate search. Through trials of courage, loyalty, and love, Mary must not only recover the knight she once knew but also face the question that shadows her heart: can she win back his memory…and a love that endures?

Author Information

For many years Robert Fearnley was the secretary of the UK branch of Pen in Exile, a part of International PEN, which was a centre for exiled writers. He has translated several books of both prose and poetry into English, one of which is Latvian Tales of Magic, a collection of old folk stories, which was illustrated by Maija Tabaka, an award-winning Latvian artist.  Love’s Lost Knight, together with the recently published Swan Flowers, are his first original works of fiction and combine his two interests of fantasy and medieval England.
