OverviewThe second volume in a collection of letters of wisdom to the author's ten grandchildren providing teen advice as they navigate the difficult growing up years. These letters are based upon biographical stories and experiences from the author's life, which he then weaves into important life lessons exhibiting Christian values and Biblical truths. In generations past, it was not unusual to have several generations living under the same roof where it was easy for grandparents to help pass on their Christian values and beliefs to the next generation. Today, grandparents find themselves separated from their grandchildren not only by distance, but by those same beliefs and values past generations so easily conveyed to the future. As a result, without a firm foundation provided by loving elders, many young people today find themselves struggling to know exactly what they do believe. Not knowing what they stand for, they will fall for anything. Unfortunately, it is usually not Biblical truth, but is the world's distorted version of truth. The letters contained in ""Love, Papa 2"" are filled with wisdom gained from a life lived fully and experienced through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. For grandparents struggling to find a way to share their faith with grandchildren they don't get to see as much as they would like to, ""Love, Papa"" creates a blueprint and supplies material to share life lessons and the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ with your grandchildren. Take the lessons Gary teaches and use your personal stories to illustrate the message within them, writing your own letters to your grandchildren. During that time we would ask question after question about what's the wisest thing to do in parenting through a particular situation as they were older and had already raised their family. They shared principles they had gleaned from studying the Bible that guided their parenting decisions. Now as I read many of those lessons in ""Love, Papa,"" I find myself smiling, as far more than their grandchildren will be blessed to learn from the wisdom in these letters."" Pastor Terry Lewis - Grace Point Community Church, Lewis Center, Ohio Author InformationWith more than a dozen patents and two national land speed records aboard a motorcycle to his credit, this former founder and president of two thriving manufacturing companies lists his most important accomplishments as the raising of three successful, well adjusted, Christian adult kids and the mentoring of undergraduate students while teaching engineering laboratories at Oklahoma State University. Following graduation from Purdue University, Gary traveled the world as an engineer and business owner before retiring from day to day operations and realizing his ""bucket list"" job at Oklahoma State University. During his time teaching, students would regularly seek him out for advice, not just in engineering and business, but also regarding issues of life as they navigated the pathway to adulthood and successful careers. In addition to his writing, business, and teaching careers, Gary also helped found the Christian ministry, Total Health LLC, serving the less fortunate in Central America by building and staffing medical clinics. He served on the board of Total Health for 18 years before retiring in 2022. He has also served on the board of directors of other Christian ministries with emphasis on international missions, as well as playing guitar, mandolin, and singing in his churches' worship bands throughout the years. Now completely retired, he is mentoring his grandchildren from a distance by sending them letters relating stories from his adventurous life to Biblical truths and Christian values. In his spare time, Gary enjoys restoring classic motorcycles, woodworking, playing guitar and singing, hiking, and traveling with his wife of 50 years. Gary and his wife, Robin, now live in Edmond, Oklahoma to be near four of their ten grandchildren. You can learn more about Gary and his life at his website, www.garoldwalexander.com.
