Overview

A moving mosaic of poetry and prose, Love in the Rearview Mirror is the culmination of years of healing and self-examination, told with unflinching honesty about what it means to keep choosing love in the face of unimaginable despair. It is a testament to the courage required to look inward and the strength one must summon to piece together all the moments of grief and grace until the image in the mirror staring back at you is whole again.

Reviews

With spare words and big heart, Meridian Kristi tells a powerful story of learning how to love. Though deeply personal, she also tells many of our stories as she confronts racism, abuse, and societal expectations. With the precision of a poet, her words will expand you. - Tama Kieves, bestselling author of A Year Without Fear and Thriving Through Uncertainty When we look ahead in our lives, we see many paths, many choices, but when we look back, we see it's been one path all along. Every choice made, every love landed, and every love lost has become a part of the journey, a lesson learned, a story to tell. In Love in the Rearview Mirror, Meridian Kristi generously invites us into the richly detailed landscape of her life, giving us a front row seat into these stories, allowing us to see the choices she made-many with love-as a young woman, as a mother, and into adulthood. -Laurie Wagner, creator of 27 Powers In this beautiful book, Meridian gives us the gift of riding alongside her in her journey around love and loss and choosing love again. It is intimate and generous-like sitting with a dear friend and hearing their story. There is wisdom woven throughout this book. -Andrea Scher, author of Wonder Seeker Meridian Kristi's clear-sighted remembrance of her life is a marvel of wisdom and empathy. She repeatedly encountered the joys of love and the heaviness of grief. Her story, in poetry and prose, is one of hope and determination to continue choosing to love. -John Fleer, author of The Year I Died Meridian Kristi shows us through love, lived-experiences, acceptance, and resolve how to endure what life bestows upon us and to accept the many purposes we serve among the living while acknowledging the presence of those whose spiritual essences stay to enhance our lives. -Chriss Warren Foster, PhD, author of Howling at the Moon and Poems, Maxims, and Extended Thoughts I've always been touched by Meridian's writing. Her stories are poetic and the poems tell her stories. It is a lyric ride through a love-laden life. Enjoy! -Terri Tate, author of A Crooked Smile
