In this book, for the first time, Andrew Nelson offers a detailed and careful analysis of Young's theology: Nelson brings his own expertise as a theologian to bear on the creativity of Young, highlighting themes and emphases which serve the Christian community well. If you have read The Shack and want to think more about it, there is no better place to go. --Tom Greggs, University of Aberdeen Answering critics and fans alike, Andy Nelson has enlivened the conversation of theological encounter found in the work of William Paul Young. Not only does Nelson bring the reader to the fount of ancient reflections on the Trinitarian nature of God, but also explores contemporary questions surrounding Young's theological contribution to these. The reader will find a lively consideration of encountering God's presence and how Young has creatively expressed these encounters. --T. M. Allen, author of Heaven and the Popular Imagination The work of William Young has captivated an international audience, creating the need for a talented theologian to extrapolate the layers of Young's writing. Andrew Nelson is that theologian. Nelson's work is a thoughtful and timely engagement with Young's writings that helps the reader pierce the depths of Trinitarian thought and submissive love, which are central to Young's theology. --Chad Venters, Truckee Meadows Community College
