Overview

Language is the conduit through which imagination flows. Words are the sparks that set our heart ablaze. Inspiration occurs without notice, and when I was young, I wrote fiction and verse about everything that inspired me. Even on scraps of paper that have long since disappeared. As I grew older, life impeded my writing, until I filled the God-shaped hole in my heart with His Holy Spirit, and He opened my eyes to the desire-shaped hole that only purpose can fill. Psalm 37:4 says, ""Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart."" (NKJV) Exhortation motivates me to write. This book is a collection of poetry and prose, each introduced with a preface to set the stage that inspired the text, and a picture of the actual location, or one that serves to amplify its meaning, and therefore its purpose. I hope that by reading the preface description and engaging in a visual interpretation of my thoughts, the writing will come alive, and in some meaningful way, embolden your spirit. This anthology of Christian, inspirational literature delves into the realms of Wisdom, Faith, Hope, Forgiveness, Grace, Redemption, Devotion, Love, even Heaven; using imagery and symbolism to provoke introspection and stir our emotions. Religious anthologies using short stories and poems are commonplace, but Lost in Dreams and Spatters of Light attempts to provide an extra spiritual dimension to uplifting, inspiring, and sacred themes.
