OverviewA powerful story of sacrifice, duty, pride and the love of a mother for her beautiful brown-eyed boy, who was also Trooper James Munday LG of the Household Cavalry Regiment. I started to write everything down from the start of this heartbreaking journey for my grandchildren so they would 'know' their Uncle James. James always said If anything happens to me, Mom, tell it how it is, so with this thought and an overwhelming duty to do things right for James I am ready to share my journey with you. I hope that my words give a deeper insight into the story behind the news. Although it's a distant memory for many, others are still living the wars daily both mentally and physically. James was more than the 121st UK soldier to be killed, he was six-foot-two of gorgeousness, full of life, love, respect, fun and mischief. A percentage from sales of this book will be donated to The Household Cavalry Foundation (Registered Charity 115869). I am forever grateful for your support and love. God Bless Our Soldiers. ***** 'Just read a book about the death of James Munday, Household Cavalry. 21 years of age and the effect it has had on his family. A subject that we don't really hear much about, how much it hurts the family. James was a young man serving his country. Loved his sports, skiing, football, etc. A mad Liverpool fan. Please read this and listen from a mother and family point of view. A compelling read.' - Ray Winstone, star of film, television and stage productions 'This is a book of true gritty emotions. It's like a rollercoaster ride sometimes in pitch black. I started reading it on Sunday morning at 8:30 sitting in the sun. I didn't put it down until 10:45 that same evening. I read it in one swoop!!! My god what a story...what a true story from Caroline Munday with her broken heart that will never heal. The morning she received the news of her boy James Munday of the Life Guards Regiment who had given his life for his country in Afghanistan just shy of his 21st birthday...and the broken family waiting for James to come back to England and be at peace...what an absolute privilege it was to read.
