Overview

Atlas Skye is the renowned prince of pleasure with the magical ability to elicit desire. Repulsed by his son's shameless reputation, the kralv issues Atlas an ultimatum. Find a wife or be shipped to a remote camp in the mountains to mine for fire rubies. Everinne Auvyre is touched by death. She thrives on careless decisions to avoid her volatile magic and the nightmares haunting her. When her brother refuses to aid her destructive habits, she finds employment at the Mystic Obscura, an exclusive parlor full of provocative entertainment, where the price to enter is a single drop of blood. Yet the gilded streets of Prava are no longer safe. Immortals are being hunted and the wicked wood is awakening. When Everinne's magic is discovered by the kralv, she's forced into an unjust bargain--become his puppet and marry Atlas, or surrender to her greatest fears. With Everinne entrenched in the clutches of the Mystic Obscura, Atlas struggles to find a way to free her from its grip and uncover the missing immortals. But when Everinne's only friend vanishes, the two must navigate the city's sinister underbelly, before they lose their kingdom, and each other, forever. Contains mature themes.

Author Information

Hillary Raymer is a USA Today bestselling romance author of vividly dark fantasy realms and cozy small towns. She has an unfinished bachelor's degree in English, because she ran off and married a Marine halfway through college. She enjoys the mountains and the beach, and loves to travel. Currently, she lives in Virginia with her husband, two daughters, and two cats. When not writing, she likes to doodle, enjoy a glass of wine, and watch the sun set. Smart, smooth, and multifaceted, Zura Johnson is a narrator, artist, and Lego enthusiast. Zura began her journey toward the world of storytelling at the age of five, when she memorized the entirety of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. She proceeded to recite them in their entirety to her family on a road trip . . . at which time her exasperated parents enrolled her in theater classes. Zura received her BS in theater performance, with a minor in Russian language and culture from the University of Evansville. She continued on to receive her MFA from The Old Globe Advanced Training Program/University of San Diego. After graduation she signed with her first voice-over agency in NYC, Arcieri & Associates. Shortly after that, she moved to the Philadelphia area, where she continued to perform on stage, and she began to book local and regional voice-over work. Zura's voice-over career took off after her family was transferred to Singapore for her husband's work. She worked with numerous studios in Singapore, recording projects for local and international clients from China to Australia. Some of the highlights for Zura were her extensive work with SAP, recording her first NatGeo documentary for NatGeo Asia. Zura has always been a storyteller. And throughout her training, she has focused a great deal of energy on her vocal work. As she began her journey with books on tape, narrating audiobooks feels like coming home. When Zura is not recording audiobooks, her greatest loves are traveling, making her kids laugh, and pen and ink drawing. As a full-time audiobook narrator, Christian Leatherman has been fortunate enough to perform in many genres-fantasy, romance, sci-fi, nonfiction, and mystery/thriller-to bring life to complex worlds and characters ranging from a Southern android assistant to an early twentieth-century kid from Brooklyn who ran away from home. He never would have guessed that his previous life as a forensic science student and a beer/malt biologist might have prepared him with the medical and forensic jargon all too common in police-procedural thrillers and dense nonfiction but, here we are! Though tasting beer for a living was enjoyable, Christian couldn't ignore his creative voice screaming at him to utilize the acting and vocal performance chops he had developed but put aside for far too long. Making the leap into audiobook narration was the missing catalyst to fulfilling his true artistic passion: performing engaging stories and breathing life into beautifully-written characters who yearn for a voice. With an enthusiasm for taking on multiple genres, unique vocal variation, and a youthful sound, Christian can't wait to energize your next great story!
