OverviewLooking for Butterflies is an illustrated book with a poetic narrative to be enjoyed by all ages. The illustrations are watercolor and sepia-toned pencil, some left monochromatic to be embellished by the user with colored pencils. It takes place at St. Marks Refuge, near Tallahassee, FL, with two little girls on a nature walk, hoping to find butterflies. Along the way, they come across lots of plants and critters, but no butterflies. Finally, after almost giving up, they are visited by a butterfly, and then, many more. The book introduces the audience to animal symbolism and the idea that animals can bring messages if we pay attention when they show up in our lives. There are three removable wildlife pencil illustrations at the end of the book that can be colored with colored pencils.
