OverviewIn 1999, when I first drew Chuck Close, whom I have known since the early SoHo days, I had no idea that I was embarking on a series that would eventually comprise eighty-one drawings. But I found myself returning to the subject at four different periods over the next sixteen years. His work is in the permanent collections of the Storm King Art Center, Sagamore Hotel, Australia National Museum, Detroit Institute of The Arts, among many others. His school years were spent in sculpture and graphics. Among many awards, he has been the recipient of two National Endowments for the Arts, illustrated a children's book and lectured extensively.
