Author Information

Margaret Allis studied creative writing at Auckland University of Technology, graduating with a Master of Creative Writing in 2011. She has enjoyed writing fiction and poetry for many years - Long Thin Strands is her first book. Drawing from her diverse experiences and people she has known, she seeks to bring life-blending narratives of truth with fiction. Having worked as a physiotherapist, and currently as a caregiver and wellness advocate, her medical experience influences her writing. Graduating in hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming in 2019, Margaret incorporates themes of healing into her stories and acknowledges the power of metaphor in the life journey. Margaret works with her husband in several charitable trust ventures. Together they have raised their six children in Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand, where she currently resides, when she is not in Mangawhai happily mowing grass on their rural property.
