Table of ContentsReviews""Composed of vivid, sight-free sensory details, the text's parallel treatment of Star and Lola symbolizes the close bond between dog and human, felt rather than seen. A truly inclusive, heartfelt (guide) dog tale."" -- Kirkus Starred review""While this is very much a book about character rather than action, it will inspire personal responses in its readership, and it offers room for related talk as a response activity if used in elementary classrooms. Although the target reading age involves younger elementary students, Lola and I is a book that will be appreciated by older readers in the way it takes action against stereotypes while offering a portrayal of an energetic young woman whose blindness is only one characteristic in a dynamic portrayal. Highly recommended."" -- CM Magazine ""The narrator (and the woman's disability) is revealed slowly -- emphasizing the strong bond between woman and guide dog. Most readers will be surprised -- and moved."" -- Horn Book Magazine ""This is an absolutely charming book told from the point of view of a dog and its owner Lola. Lola and the dog go everywhere and do everything together. The dog talks how they clash about the music they enjoy but in most other things have similar interests. But there is a difference as we find out, that this is Lola's seeing eye dog, trained to get her through all her everyday struggles. Totally heartwarming and moving."" -- Shelf Life magazine ""A touching story about the special bond between a person and a guide dog."" -- KidsBookshelf Author InformationChiara Valentina Segre was born in Italy.
