OverviewGhettoes make demands of individuals in a complex and challenging setting. While they have to make greater effort there is comparatively less to show for that effort. People have to navigate all these, look for an optimal balance while at the same time defining character and values. George lives with their family in one such place. He is a single father of one. He is both jobless and a perpetual drinker and so finds difficulty in providing for his young son. This causes strain between himself and his three sisters, who are also single parents. One morning he quarrels with one of them and leaves angrily, going, yet again, to look for a job. He spends the day asking around and drinking but arrives home late in the evening just in time to save the life of a child who was about to drown. In this way he becomes an uncalculating, spontaneous hero, and subtly invites us to take new stock of him. The story challenges us to examine ourselves before we judge others.
