Reviews

Reviews of the first publication: ‘An informative sketch of the development of local historical studies in schools and colleges is followed by descriptions of the wide range of sources available. In a subject as difficult to handle as local history, one cannot have too much practical advice: there is plenty of it in Mr Douch’s book.’ — Teacher ‘The book abounds in many useful suggestions and could well become a handbook for teachers desirous of promoting the study of local history in their schools.’ — The Times Educational Supplement
