Dee Dee Ramone was the enigmatic bassist and prolific songwriter for the Ramones, the inventors and best exemplars of punk rock. Dee Dee and the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and received a Grammy Award in 2011 for Lifetime achievement.
