OverviewIt was love at first sight when Lynn laid eyes on her. He was a Welsh toolmaker by trade dreaming of adventure, and she a classic wooden yacht in desperate need of love and attention. Lynn had caught the travel bug at an early age, and here it was: the chance to live his dream. After years restoring the yacht with the help of many good friends, Lynn was ready for the biggest adventure of his life: crossing the Atlantic, sailing single-handed in a yacht without an engine. Waiting across the pond were sunny days and warm blue seas lapping on white sandy beaches, and it would take more than a few days of bad weather to keep him from following his dream. In 1995, sailing on the yacht Seefalke, Lynn left Barry, South Wales. This book is the true story of his voyage, the places he saw and the people he met along the way. Buying the yacht was only the start of Lynn's great adventure. I completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker, which gave me the ability to travel. In Australia, I learned to scuba dive, which led to me buying a yacht. This book is about my passion to restore that yacht, the fun I had sailing her and meeting people along the way, and the adventures I got up to with my mates. In the 2000, I walked the Appalachian Trail, taking my Border Collie, Dylan, with me. It took me five months to walk 2167.2 miles. In my sixty-third year, I walked out of the house, down to the beach and turned right, onto the Welsh coastal path. I walked to north Wales, where I picked up the Offa's Dyke Trail before walking back to the house twelve weeks later, taking my Springer Spaniel, Dotti, with me. A total walking distance of 1050 miles. I met some great people along the way, and it was a great way to see my homeland. My dyslexia has not held me back. If I can travel the world and write a book, you can as well. I hope you will enjoy the read. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
