Author Information

Crispin Pailing is the author of God’s Town, which investigates the history of the Church in Liverpool. He was formerly Rector of Liverpool (2014–2024). Laurence Westgaph is an historian specialising in the history of slavery and Black presence in Britain, author of the Historic England publication ‘Read the Signs’, presenter of documentaries for the History Channel and BBC, and is founder of Liverpool Black History Research Group.
